19 September 2022 – Tormos to Isbert Dam

We cancelled last week’s walk because the temperature was 35c

It was a much more pleasant 24c today

As always on this walk we stopped to admire the impressive “bull run” walk

It was the Queens funeral in the UK today

We considered cancelling the walk so members could watch it on TV

But having cancelled last week we were desperate to get out for a good walk

I did think that we would not have many members due to the funeral

So I was quite pleasantly surprised when 16 turned up

And, of course, we can watch the funeral on TV “catch up” after the walk

There were quite a few we have not seen since May

And it’s always nice to catch up on their news

For quite a few this is the first time they have done this walk

The others had to listen to my tales about the dam and the “bull run”

This is a lovely summer walk, reasonably flat and lots of cover

And like all of our walks I never tire of it

It took a little longer today than normal

This was partly because it was so pleasant at banana stop

And also we had to take time to feed the horses (and a new and friendly dog)

The only disappointment was no bar stop

Both bar Tormos and bar Almasara were closed

Time taken – 3.5 hours

Distance – 9 km

Total ascent – 100 metres

Temperature – 18-24c
