10 October 2022 – Lliber to Senija in Reserve

15 for our first day walk since the summer break

Should have been 16, but unusually one did not turn up at the start

Lovely morning and ideal conditions for a walk

We went into Senija for the first time since Covid restrictions

Colin briefed us on the newest wall art

We had our banana break in the square by the church

Some of the group has not been to Senija before

Always interesting to visit the centre of the village rather than drive past on the main road

This was our first climb in many weeks

And some found it to be a challenge

However we did have frequent water stops to enjoy the views

Which despite the cloud were as impressive as ever

A large group passed us as we recovered before climbing to the cross

They left soon after we arrived, but a second large group arrived soon after

I had offered the option of missing the cross, but I was glad that they talked me out of that option

We had a light rain shower as we set off after lunch

But fortunately it did not last long, and we did not need our waterproofs

And it was sunny again by the time we reached Lliber

Where we all had a well deserved drink, and David a very large vodka and tonic

As always the drink in the square was the best part of the walk

Time taken – 5.5 hours

Distance – 12 km

Total ascent – 390 metres

Temperature – 17-22c
