16 of us set off from Parcent to walk to the San Sebastian ermita above Murla
We had changed the walk from Monday to Thursday because of the weather
The weather forecast promised cloudy/sunny, and got the first part right
As we neared Murla we found the Gorgos river in flood
This was anitciplated, and Plan B was a circular valley walk to Alcalali
Three brave souls opted to ford the river and complete the original walk
This obviously involved more than just damp boots
However they did reach the ermita, and took this selfie to prove it
The rest of us returned to Parcent for our banana stop
Not by any means the first time we have done so at the village font
Despite the cloudy weather it was pleasant to be out walking again
Particularly after a couple of particularly wet and miserable days
No one seemed to regret the change of walk
Or having to walk in dry socks and boots
The weather also improved and we could remove jackets
These improvised stepping stones was exciting enough for most of us
We had our picnic lunch at the Alcalali mirador
And by now the promised sun had arrived
Everyone missed Jan, who was at home nursing her broken wrist
And even missed the after walk drinks at the Cooperativa in Parcent
Time taken – 5 hours
Distance – 12 km
Total ascent – 100 metres
Temperature – 14-20c
